The Seattle Crew of the Sea Scout Ship Yankee Clipper gathered in the light rain on Friday night, March 19th, to shake off the covers and get their ship out to sea again for the first time in 2015. The crews from both Woodinville and Seattle have spent some time this spring cleaning the boat after her fall wood work (Nice new Portside bulkhead where it had been rotting) and it was time to go to Brownsville for the Mert Wells Regatta.
After the crew got through the locks, Bosun’s Mate Liam fired up the galley for his home made Mac and Cheese dinner. Mmm.
It was a nighttime landing for the Clipper Crew in Brownsville, and after getting the boat put in order, they crashed for the night to prepare for the Regatta on Saturday.
The events went off well, and the sun started shining as crews from the Sea Scout Ships from Seattle, Bellevue, Edmonds and Port Orchard learned new skills, and competed in the ones they already knew.
